Motor City Comic Con - Cosplay Throughout the Day

Undoubtedly one of the most popular aspects of any Comic Con is the cosplay. A huge variety of fandoms are represented at each and every one, and there were numerous excellent ones on display at the Motor City Comic Con as well.

While there was a scheduled contest on Saturday, some of the best were found just on the show floor. We'll do a post about the actual contest in a couple of days, and you will see some repeat customers between this post and the contest one - but you'll see plenty of different ones as well.

This slideshows below automatically scrolls through the images but you can pause, skip, reverse or push to full screen if there are any in particular you are interested in looking at more closely.

Without a doubt, there was a very superhero (and villain)-heavy theme at play here. I mentioned in my opening article that there were a lot more children / families than some of the more anime-inspired cons, and many of them were dressed up. Tons of creativity was on display throughout the event.

One particular theme cracked me up - STOP READING THE WORDS HERE IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ENDGAME AND DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED.

Seriously... last chance. Even if it was a small spoiler. Tiny really - unlike....

Okay, I'm putting a video here as a spacer / spoiler prevention method....

Fat Thor.

I'm just saying... almost as soon as Endgame completed, I joked with my wife that now schlubby middle-aged guys like me had a superhero they could cosplay, and 'Fat Thor' was a popular choice indeed. Several different ones could be seen throughout the Con, and two in particular did a great job of voicing the character, sounding a good deal like the movie version of him. It made for some entertaining spectacle to be sure.
