I'll probably put a review out this weekend, but not this week. Too many games to work on this week - not that that is a bad thing. I have a handful of new games coming over the next week or two, and picked up some new ones recently as well. Probably the most pronounced was Assassin's Creed III, which I beat late last night. That game got off to a 'slow' start for me - I really was not terribly into it, but it got considerably better in the later portions. Except the end. I will not go into details, but the ending left a bit to be desired in my opinion. Surprised that I had not heard more about it, given the fits the ending from Mass Effect 3 caused.
I also finished Lunar for my PSP. I had first played this title years ago on the Sega Genesis CD, and this improved version of it was as good as I remembered. I am trying to get through my PSP UMD titles - I suspect my PSP and UMDs will be getting traded in/sold soon as funds toward something else in the near future. I have three more UMD titles to go through and then I will have beaten everything in my PSP collection that is not digital. Obviously reviews will ensue.
Also, I beat the story mode on Dead or Alive 5 over the weekend, and got to play with some of the other modes for a time. I still want to weigh in on several of the other modes, but the primary one is done.
On a whim, I downloaded the Capcom arcade cabinet that came out last week and beat on Black Tiger, which was one of my favorite arcade titles back in junior high/high school. Quick handful of free trophies on a brief trip down nostalgia lane.
Oh, and I am on the second to last chapter in Halo: Anniversary and started up and put double digit levels on a new character in Guild Wars 2. I also put on a few levels in Black Ops 2 over the weekend since they had the double experience going.
On top of all of that, I have been working with my team on my MUD, Kingdoms of the Lost and we have been talking about some pretty big changes in that space. I suddenly realized why I am so tired today - I am not sure I slept much over the weekend!
So once I beat Halo, I need to consider what I am going to play next. Immediate options:
- Dead Space 2 & 3 (both on order, should arrive Thursday
- Playing Fire Emblem again (it's just so good!)
- Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
- Persona 4 Golden (my son's been playing it on my Vita and loves it)
- Uncharted on my Vita (and Uncharted 2 for my PS3)
- Halo 3 & then 4
That is sort of my list of games I am looking at now - and why even though I really want to play Tomb Raider, I do not figure to be purchasing it in the near future.
What have you been playing? Any of the above? If you have played some of the games I am considering, what would you recommend I tackle first? Hope you all had a great, game-filled weekend!

If you've never played Persona 4 before, then I'd definitely recommend that most... I'm currently at the final dungeon and replaying this game on the Vita made me fall in love with it all over again... it's just so damn good! *_*
ReplyDeleteNope, have not played it. I have only ever played the first Persona - way back on the PS1 I believe. Loved it - great game. I may well have to take your advice on this one. :) Thanks for dropping by!
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing good things about Ni no Kuni.
ReplyDeleteThen you'll probably like 4 as well! 4 already was my favourite of the Persona series on the PS2, as I really, really dig the mystery-crime-detective storyline, but Golden has so many convenient improvements over the PS2 version, it's amazing. *_* I really can't wait to see what Persona 5 will be like... :)
ReplyDeleteSame - and my daughter is a huge fan of the art studio that did the graphics for it. Can't say I'm hurting for games to play lately. :)
ReplyDeletePS4, here we come? lol
ReplyDeleteDidn't realise you had Dead or Alive. How do you find it?
ReplyDeleteJust picked it up last weekend. Absolutely love it. Combat's super-smooth, lots of options, the story mode takes several hours to get through. It's one of my many recent acquisitions. I should write a post up on all of those... lol
ReplyDelete"That game got off to a 'slow' start for me - I really was not terribly into it, but it got considerably better in the later portions."
ReplyDeleteI have heard from a few people about the 'slow' start. Though I'm not very far into the game right now (made my initial voyage), I liked how they had it setup. I think the first few chapters (3-4 maybe?) are supposedly slow, and then it picks up some.
My plan it to finish this in the next 2 weeks, but my plans here lately haven't been coming to fruition!
As for this last weekend, it was all Black Ops II online multiplayer...if I got paid to play games, I would be FILTHY rich after this last weekend. Unfortunately, Treyarch released a patch for the Wii U version of Black Ops II on Monday, and it literally messed things up so bad, the servers were down for 24+ hours. A new patch if now live, but Wii U owners missed the first Double XP weekend (they forgot out us supposedly), and now they messed up the last day of Double XP with their patch that messed up.....
Ouch - bummer on the patch. My son was saying that there is another double xp weekend this weekend for the ps3 - what about the Wii U?
ReplyDeleteI think what hurt AC 3 for me early on, was despite the new setting, the character you use at the beginning did not really feel all that different. It was more of the same with a new coat of paint from the prior games. It's when you transition to the new character that there is a lot more to do, and I began to enjoy the experience more.
It was a well-made game, I could appreciate a lot of the production values, but not one of my favorites to play really, personally.
"Ouch - bummer on the patch. My son was saying that there is another double xp weekend this weekend for the ps3 - what about the Wii U?"
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think it is happening again for the Wii U as well. They are trying to kill my weekend free time. CoffeeWithNotBlogging, CoffeeWithBlackOpsII, CoffeeWithNoSleep.
ROFL - you going to Prestige yet again with this double xp?
ReplyDeleteJust found out it's a Double XP for Headquarters, and I don't believe I have played a match of Headquarters yet....
ReplyDeleteI won't confirm/deny how many rounds I went through last weekend, or what my current Prestige level is, but it's not as unhealthy as some other players I have seen so far.
