I have been eying Injustice for some time now. I was a huge fan of NetherRealm's Mortal Kombat when it came out a couple of years ago, giving it an 8.5 out of 10 in my review.
Well, usually if I plan to get a game around release time, I pre-order it from someplace. Amazon, Best Buy... wherever. If Gamestop does not have any good pre-order deals, those other places often have something like additional credits or gift cards, effectively saving you cash on your next purchase.
I eventually opted to not get the game. I had seen Walmart had an online bundle deal where you could buy
Injustice and get Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe and a free DLC code for
some extra skins as well. I had thought about ordering that, but did
not. For post-release, that seemed like the best deal you would find during week one.
Then I started to read early reviews and another buddy online picked it up and told me how much he was enjoying it. I broke down last night and decided to pick it up while I was at Walmart with my wife. The good news? For the PS3 and 360, those bundles were still there (obviously the Wii U version did not have said bundle, as they did not have a release of Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe on the system).
I spent several hours with the game last night and hope to have a review up early next week. In the meantime, I have played Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe in the past on the Xbox. I borrowed it from a friend and overall I liked it well enough. It did not hold my interest particularly long, and I scored it only a 6.5, but I will give it a second go now on PS3 and see if I still feel the same way about it or not. Still, it struck me as kind of a nice bundle (since Walmart usually sells the other title for $20), so I figured I would mention it in case anyone else is considering picking Injustice up this week.
