Multiplatform Releases
Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin
PS4 / PS3 / XB1 / XB360 / PC
I think it's fair to say that a lot of us from CGR are fans of the Dark Souls series as seen by both Nick and Robert's forays into the world of Drangleic. I know that I for one am anxiously awaiting the lack of sleep once again at the chance to re-explore these savage lands not only in a higher resolution (which is nice) but also with new AI and enemy placements almost creating a brand new game from what already exists.Mortal Kombat X
PS4 / PS3 / XB1 / XB360 / PC
While I did enjoy Midways' creation once upon a time, Netherealm have upped the anti and brought this dying series back to life and then some. Having played just about all the entries, Mortal Kombat X looks like it is not only continuing on with the story of its predecessor, but also adding in new blood left and right to create something more than from where the series comes from. I mean who doesn't want to play as one of the Predators?Mighty No. 9
PS4 / PS3 / PSV / XB1 / XB360 / Wii U / 3DS / PC
After Keiji Inafune left Capcom and all Mega Man projects shut down it looked like that was going to be it for the famous Blue Bomber. Taking to the still newly invented concept of Kickstarter, the idea for the Mighty No. 9 was created and it is finally arriving! Here's hoping that the wait has been worth it because I think everyone is more than due for another "Mega Man".Microsoft Xbox One
State of Decay - Year-One Survival Edition
" State of Decay was one of the gaming highlights of 2013 (and much of 2014). A persistent, open-world zombie survival game, with base-building, resource management, and perma-death? Heck yes! It was unique and addictive – the kind of game that is different for every player, yet with a cohesive, universal feeling and message. And soon, State of Decay fans and newcomers alike will get to experience the post-apocalyptic adventure in a whole new light in State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition for Xbox One."Nintendo 3DS
Etrian Mystery Dungeon
Do you love Dungeon Crawling? Do you like exploratory RPGs? What about Roguelikes?Atlus took it all and threw it into a crock pot to create another spin off series using the Etrian Odyssey style gaming. This time however instead of running around as the casts of the Persona series, the Etrian Adventurers are instead in for a a much more 3D treat as they explore dungeons in the Mystery Dungeon style. How many floors can you make it until you take that unfortunate misstep? Find out very soon!
Xenoblade Chronicles 3DS
Originally releases back on the Wii, any North American fan of Monolith's Xeno series knows that the only reason we managed to get this originally was because of the amazing Operation Rainfall that also managed to get us both The Last Story and Pandora's Tower.Xenoblade is back once again but on the smaller screen with various enhancements that also require the "New Nintendo 3DS". Do you have one? If not you'll need one soon as Xenoblade is not a game to pass up on!
PC
GTA 5
In a day and age where multi-platform games entail either one or more of the consoles and the PC it was rather surprising when GTA 5 was not announced for PC. Now having been remade for both the PS4 (Review) and the XB1, PC Gamers are finally going to get their chance when it releases halfway through this month!Weaponographist
Now while a lot of the above are well known titles, here's for something a little different. Browsing the depths of the releases on Steam I came across some rather funky looking titles. Here is the first of the two!"The Weaponographist is a high-speed, top-down dungeon-crawling arena combat game. You play as Doug McGrave, famous demon hunter for hire. Highest level, bestest gear, ruggedly handsome, and unrepentant jerk. For refusing to help a poor town plagued by demons, you are immediately, deservedly cursed. Your powers, your wealth, and your weapons – all gone. To overcome the curse, you’ll need to clear out the dungeon using whatever weapons you can find. Fighting your way through, you are forced to use the weapons and spells dropped by enemies, as they fall apart in your hands.
Fill up your combo meter by defeating evil, vanquish demons to regain your strength, and weaken the curse while you can. But beware. Whenever you aren’t attacking, your combo will quickly drain away, and the curse will continue to take its toll. Only by killing monsters quickly, adapting to new weapons, and slowly removing the curse in pieces can Doug make his way to the depths of the dungeon and get the heck out of this damned one-horse town."

Dungeons 2
Following up from the 2011 release, this spiritual-like sequel to the Dungeon Keeper series is back once again to see exactly how far you can make it before falling to the blade of these "so called heroes"."The Dungeon Lord is back – and this time he’s serious! In Dungeons 2, fulfil the Dungeon Lord’s insatiable quest for vengeance by recruiting fearsome new monsters from all corners of the underworld in order to undertake his evil bidding. Taking over the underworld isn’t enough though – this time The Dungeon Lord will extend his dominion over the puny humans and attempt to conquer the overworld too!
Take control of the mighty Dungeon Lord and craft a network of unique and terrifying dungeons, recruit an army of fearsome creatures and command two new factions. Prepare to defend your Kingdom against those pesky heroes, go above ground to wage war on their human cities and use the ‘Hand of Terror’ to take direct control over your minions, issue commands, and even dish out a swift slap to keep them in line."
Sony PlayStation 4
Bastion
Fans of Supergiant Games will be more than happy to know that Bastion is finally coming to the Sony side of things. Originally released back in 2011 on the Xbox Live Arcade followed by the PC via Steam this stellar game truly seemed to set a bar as to what an small development team could pull off. If you've never had a chance to play this gorgeous looking and sounding game with it's incredible narrative approach, now is the time!Shovel Knight
I have to be honest that I have yet to play this. A fan of both the game play style and a huge Retro fan I've been holding out for either a PSN or an Xbox Live release. Finally coming to the PS4 this month with Kratos, I'm finally going to play! All that will be left is the future Xbox release with the Battletoads.Check out Chris' PC Review in the meantime as this really doesn't look like something that should have been passed up on for so long. Yes I feel guilty about it!
Omega Quintet
Idea Factory / Compile Hearts are at it again with another brand new concept! Taking in its own style like Fairy Fencer F did, players will find themselves in a battle for humanity all while being the manager of a Quintet of singers. What makes this game so special? It's the first PlayStation 4 release for IF! NIS is not that far behind with Disgaea 5 later this year but it is nice to see these developers moving up to the current generations.Pierre-Yves
