With E3 just around the corner in only two weeks there's plenty to look forward to this month with the newest Atelier, Odin Sphere, Grand Kingdom, Star Ocean, SMT/FE, and more. Being just about halfway done the year means that the heat's about to really start for any Game of the Year contenders in a year that already has a few. *cough* Dark Souls 3 *coughs*
Now the reason you're really here. The Release List!
Tuesday June 7
Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book (PS4)
Starting off the month on a good note, the newest Atelier game is here! Taking the series in a slightly newer direction in how to perform Alchemy, follow along what should be another memorable story in the series with Sophie.Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator (PS4 / PS3)
Guilty Gear, like Arc System Work's Blaze Blue which came after it, does not require any introduction by this point in time. Coming out this month if you've had an itch for a fast paced 2D combat Guilty Gear is your backscratcher!Mirror's Edge Catalyst (PS4 / XB1 / PC)
The second Mirror's Edge title is also making its appearance this month and unlike the first, Catalyst is both a Reboot and a Prequel to the events of the first. Haven't played the first? It shouldn't matter as Catalyst offers a fresh start.Prison Architect (PS4 / XB1)
Do you have what it takes to design the ultimate prison? After seeing the sheer amount of hours that Breanna has poured into this I know I sure as hell don't. Making its way from the PC over to the consoles it's time to see who comes out on top with the best prison.Odin Sphere Leifthrasir (PS4 / PS3 / PSV)
There are several titles on this list that I am excited for and I would be lying if I didn't say that Odin Sphere is at the top of that list for me. Having fell in love with it back on the PS2, Vanillaware blew me away with what they created. Having played and LOVED Dragon's Crown a few years ago now the only complaint that I had was that it wasn't Odin Sphere. Thankfully on the day that I put it back into my PS2, Atlus announced it's comeback with plenty of re-working to what was already an amazing title. Between this, Grand Kingdom, and Star Ocean? I may need to hide from the world to make sure that these are not all lost to the ancient land of backlog.Paragon - The Essentials (PS4)
I had wondered what a Free to Play title was doing releasing in a physical edition costing money. Turns out that the physical copy not only comes with the game installed saving bandwidth for all those who need to watch that evil meter every month but also comes with a lot of ingame currency. Essentially it makes it easier to purchase stuff.Terraria (Wii U)
I really don't think this title needs an introduction since it has pretty much come out on every system out there. Now at least Wii U owners can enjoy it too!The Technomancer (PS4 / XB1 / PC)
The Technomancer is Spider's newest title since Bound by Flame. Having worked on other titles that were a lot of fun to explore such as Of Orcs and Men in which Styx: Master of Shadows works as a prequel to, The Technomancer is actually the second in its line being the sequel to Mars: War Logs. Finding out this information right now? There's no worry as it can quickly picked up before this releases on the PSN and Xbox Marketplace.Toki Tori 2+ (PS4)
Like some other titles on this list, Toki Tori 2 is making its way over to the PS4 having already graced the Wii U, PC, and Mac platforms.Friday June 10
Kirby Planet Robobot (3DS)
Just when you thought it was safe... they gave the pink fluff ball a mech! I mean 10points for the Mech but like Kirby really needed it in order to save the world. Been needing a dose since Rainbow Curse? This should take care of that AND it has mechs mwahahahaha.Friday June 17
Minecraft Wii U Edition (Wii U)
While the Xbox is receiving an Essentials Pack this month, the Wii U is getting both Minecraft and Mario. Who honestly does not want to see a giant block based Koopa Troopa? Best part is you could even make the flying ones and have them float there... *wanders off thinking of the possibilities*Tuesday June 21
Grand Kingdom (PS4 / PSV)
After getting a chance to play NISA's Demo I'm already hooked on this. Getting access to even more classes in order to wage war for your own faction is about to get a lot more interesting!Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (Wii U)
Having already come out on the 3DS back in March, though I swear I remember a Wii U announcement back then, it's coming out now on the bigger system for a bit of friendly living room competition.Mighty No. 9 (PS4 / XB1 / Wii U / PC)
Can... can it... can it really be? Is it REALLY coming out this time? Everyone... seems to think so? Here's hoping because if not I think people are going to give up on it.Minecraft: Xbox One Edition - Favorites Pack (XB1)
Because there's never enough Minecraft:"Get Minecraft, along with seven fan-favorite DLC packs, in this special edition bundle. Revamp the look of your world as you build, create and explore by yourself or with up to three friends in split-screen and up to eight together online. This bundle includes: Battle & Beasts Skin Pack, Battle & Beasts 2 Skin Pack, Natural Texture Pack, City Texture Pack, Fantasy Texture Pack, Festive Mash-up, Halo Mash-up."
MXGP 2 (PS4 / XB1)
Fighting Games, Living Room Games, World Builders, and RPGs not your thing? Racing has got you covered with a new Motocross entry!Friday June 24
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (Wii U)
Originally announced as Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, the game that a lot of people worried about falling off the face of the Earth is here. Trailer meet people, people meet the most recent trailer.Tuesday June 28
7 Days to Die (PS4, XB1)
Having already been met with both Mostly and Very Positive reviews through Steam's Early Access (we now have two systems in order to guage people's love of something), 7 Days to Die is making its way to the PS4 and XB1. This isn't just another Zombie game, it's a Zombie game that makes you need to craft in order to survive in a pretty freaky scary looking world.Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness (PS4)
The newest Star Ocean is finally here. What is a little bit funny is that when I originally saw Square put up the trademark I had been hopeful but I wasn't going to hold my breath. Two years later and we over here in North America are getting it! Having changed things up and gone back to a Star Ocean 3 like graphical look I've got high hopes for this one.Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens (PS4 / PS3 / PSV / XB1 / XB630 / Wii U / 3DS / PC)
Lego and Star Wars are at it again with the newest entry into the universe. Been needing more Lego Games in your life? The Force Awakens has you covered.Zero Time Dilemma (PSV, 3DS)
Having come out of limbo those having been waiting for their possible answers to Virtue's Last Reward may finally be getting their answers.Article by Pierre-Yves
