His service continued until 1993, during which he vividly recalls his first experiences driving a tank and pulling the trigger on his B3 gunner's course. It's an amusing anecdote that he had a tank license before he could even drive a car. Through his artwork, Mick aims to evoke nostalgia, rekindling memories of the distinct scents of diesel and cordite, the resonating sound of the 120mm firing, and the striking sight of rounds hitting their targets.
 
A self-taught artist, Mick has honed his craft over the years, employing various techniques. One of his original pieces from 1980, proudly displayed near his art desk, holds immense sentimental value and is not available for sale. Most of Mick's original works come to life through acrylic paints on gessoed MDF boards, although he occasionally employs Gouache or Oil paints for specific pieces.
